A Whale has been found in Lagos after it washed up on Alpha Beach.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State Government has already warned that their will be an ocean surge and residents leaving close to the beach should vacate the area for now.

Two Men Stage Unclad Protest In Lagos Against Traffic Officials (PHOTO)
These two men reportedly got unclad and staged a unclad protest after resisting arrest and refusing to allow their cars to be towed off by traffic officials.
This incident reportedly happened earlier on August 27, 2013, at Allen Avenue roundabout, Ikeja, Lagos state.
Currently, there is no precise information on how this issue has finally been settled but, undoubtedly, the duo showed a mighty unconventional way to protest a perceived injustice.

Keisuke Yamada is a self-taught Japanese artist who takes plain bananas and turns them into edible masterpieces. Using only a spoon and toothpicks the talented food artist works against the clock, trying to finish his pieces before the fruit begins to oxidize.
Sculpting bananas is not easy. The fragile texture of the fruit and the fact that you can’t add more material to cover up a mistake like you would with clay makes it a very difficult material to work with. And that’s exactly what makes 26-year-old Keisuke Yamada’s art so special. It all began little over two years ago when he peeled a banana and thought it would be interesting to carve something into it. His first creation was a simple smiling face, but he received such a positive reaction from art fans that he felt inspired to pursue the idea further.
Using only a spoon to prime the banana by smoothing its surface and toothpicks for carving its flesh, Keisuke created an entire series of banana sculptures that won him international acclaim after the photos he uploaded to Japanese art site, Pixiv, went viral. In his interviews with some of the largest sites in the world, Yamada revealed he works as an electrician by day, and becomes an expert banana carver during the night. He described the artistic process as a race against time, trying to finish his creations in less than 30 minutes after the peeled banana has been exposed to air. Taking too long causes the fruit to turn brown, ruining the whole piece. Once he’s finished, he quickly takes a photo after which he eats the banana.

Asuu not again now..FG Threatens To Break Off Negotiations With ‘Opposition Infiltrated, Unpatriotic’ ASUU
After several meetings ended in deadlock, members of the committees set up by the federal government to negotiate with ASUU, rising from a meeting yesterday in Abuja, expressed their frustration that they had not been able to make any meaningful progress despite all the offers made to the lecturers. They therefore resolved to halt further negotiations.
A source also said the decision by the federal government’s negotiating team to stop negotiating with ASUU may not be unconnected with security reports that the union had been infiltrated by opposition parties which have egged on the lecturers to remain inflexible to the government’s offers.
The source added that the federal government has found the uncompromising stance of ASUU extremely frustrating.
“We are trying to meet their demands within reason, but ASUU has remained stubborn insisting on all or nothing,” he said.
He accused ASUU of being unpatriotic and not acting in the best interest of the students and the country at large.
“ASUU has not been patriotic despite the willingness by government to meet some of their demands. Instead, they have remained unyielding.
“The federal government is also alarmed over security reports reaching it that ASUU has been infiltrated by opposition parties that have encouraged the lecturers to keep the universities closed to make political capital,” he disclosed.
He said the situation had compelled the government to consider a number of options to reform the university system, including a report which was presented to the committees yesterday.
The report, he said, focused on the demographics of the university student population in the country and how much the federal government spends on each student in a four-year degree programme.
“The report showed that the total student population in federal universities in the country is 1.8 million to 2 million. By making university education free, it costs the federal government, on average, N6 million per student in a four-year degree programme.
“Compare this to most private universities where it costs parents an average of N4 million in the same period and the quality of education and graduates churned out are much better.
“Meanwhile, the report also showed that there are some 80 million Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 25 who want to get a university education but cannot get admission into schools and are frustrated.
“This means that the federal university system is running an inefficient structure which has to be reformed,” the source explained.
He pointed out that one of the options available to the federal government is the introduction of financial aid, similar to what obtains in the United States of America, to cater to students’ needs.
“It is similar to what obtains in the US through which money in the form of soft loans are disbursed directly to students which will be repaid when they get jobs,” he said.
He said the introduction of financial aid was informed by the report, which traced the high rate of delinquency, cultism, s*xual molestation and general indiscipline in the universities to lack of access to financial resources by students to meet their needs.
The source pointed out that this is what the federal government expected of ASUU by keying into some of these problems, not just their demands.
“The agitation by ASUU needs to key into the rot in the system; the lecturers ought to be concerned about falling academic standards and output, not just mere salaries,” he said.
Security Operatives Quiz Stowaway Teen’s Mother
Mrs Ohikhena, a hairdresser who resides in Benin, in an apparent effort to unite with her son had earlier yesterday told reporters that her son had been secretly nursing an ambition to travel to the United States without her consent.
Mrs Evelyn Oikhena said she was shocked when her sister-in-law in Germany called her to say that she read the incident on the internet.
It was gathered that as soon as Mrs. Ohikhena went to the airport on the advice of the men of the Evbotubu Police Station, Benin City, where she went to report that her son was missing, the Airport Manager, Mr. Sunday Ayodele, ordered her arrest and detention.
She said she was shocked that her son could embark on such a life-threatening journey to where he had never been before.
Speaking in Benin City, yesterday, Mrs Oikhena said her son was at home with his elder sister, Tonia, his two younger brothers and his grand mother while she was away to visit her elder sister who had put to bed.
She said: “So I was shocked when I came back Saturday morning, and they told me that Daniel has disappeared and when I asked my daughter she said she had a quarrel with him because the boy was watching movies late into the night.
“One of Daniel’s younger brothers said he saw him remove his school books from his bag. So I asked my neighbhours whether any of them saw him and they told me that around 5 to 6 am, they heard sounds that somebody was opening the gate but never thought it was my son. He doesn’t go out. What I know is that he is always watching movies in the house but he doesn’t have friends.
“When we were looking for him, his nine-year-old younger brother said that anytime they were watching film, he always say he will go abroad; he will go to airport to enter plane . He told me to go and check the airport. I did not believe him,” she said.
“I went to Oba Market police station, they referred me to Evbuotubu police station. When I got there, they said they would declare him missing after 24 hours and that I should come back the next day. I went to inform my pastor and other members, my friends and other relations.”
Mrs oikhena also dismissed insinuations the boy could have fled Benin because the she was maltreating him.
“I did not maltreat him. I don’t joke with my children’s welfare. He does not have friends; he hardly leaves home. I don’t know why he was going to Lagos.
“When I heard the news, I did not know what to do or say. I was so weak. Many people were telling me to calm down. My only joy now is that he is alive; that is my happiness,” she said.

‘Stowaway boy thought Arik plane was US-bound’
THE teenage stowaway, Daniel Ihekina, who was arrested at the Lagos Airport after flying in the tyre hole of an Arik plane from Benin to Lagos on Saturday morning, thought he was on a US-bound flight.
A source at the Benin Airport who disclosed this said the boy’s parents had already departed for Lagos in search of the stowaway.
The airport source, who did not want his name in print said, “From what we heard, the boy said he was being maltreated and tried to escape from his parents. He thought he was on his way to the US.
“The parents have travelled to Lagos by road, to get him back.”
Meanwhile, investigations conducted by one of our correspondents in Lagos revealed that the boy had been handed over to the operatives of the State Security Services for further investigation.
The General Manager, Corporate Communications, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mr. Yakubu Dati, who also confirmed the development, said the aviation security personnel of the agency had handed over the young voyager to the men of the SSS for extensive investigation.
Dati said, “The residential address the boy gave to us was traced to a church in Benin by our airport manager and his team. So, there is need to hand over the teenager to the SSS who are experts in such investigations. They will carry out further investigation on the matter.”
The FAAN spokesman said the nature and circumstances surrounding the crime informed the agency decision to hand over the stowaway to the SSS operatives.
Meanwhile, following the Benin Airport incident, FAAN has adopted the ‘risk amelioration processes to safeguard flight operations’ at all its 22 airports across the country.
Dati stressed that the agency had tightened its risk amelioration procedure to ensure that similar incident did not occur again.
He also said the agency had prioritised the perimeter fencing of all the 22 airports in the country.
“In the meantime, we have adopted risk amelioration processes to safeguard flight operations. As a result of this incident in Benin, we have further tightened our risk amelioration procedure to ensure that a similar incident does not occur,” he said.
However, FAAN has also continued to trade blame with Arik Air over the Benin incident.
The agency, in a statement on Sunday, said it read with “great dismay the statement released by Arik Airlines about the stowaway found on board Arik’s flight 544 from Benin to Lagos on Saturday 24 August, 2013.”
Dati said FAAN was “unfairly indicted” while the airline took no responsibility whatsoever for such a “serious security breach.”
FAAN said its preliminary investigation had revealed that Arik did not give accurate account of the Benin Airport incident.
Giving the accounts of its preliminary findings, FAAN said, “Our investigations reveal that a passenger on board the flight called the attention of the cabin crew while the aircraft was waiting to take off at the threshold of the runway, to the effect that they had seen a young boy walk under the aircraft and had not seen him re-appear on the other side.”
“The cabin crew in turn informed the pilots in the cockpit about this. The pilots called the control tower and asked them to request FAAN to do a sweep of the area after their departure, opting to carry on with their flight despite the report.”
“Upon the arrival of the aircraft in Lagos, we were informed that there had been a stowaway found alive alighting from the wheel well of the aircraft. While FAAN takes this security breach extremely seriously, we deem Arik’s attempt at indicting and smearing FAAN as irresponsible. Safety and security breaches occur when all the checks in the system are beaten. Given that security is a responsibility for all players in this industry, a critical last opportunity to detect and prevent this stowaway was offered and had the airline taken the information by passengers as seriously as they should have, this incident would have been avoided.”
